InSightIDT Newsletter – March 2012

As our early March email reaches the IDT network throughout Australia and New Zealand, we have a month ahead that is packed to the rafters with a combination of publicly listed courses, agency in-house training and this year’s Conference.

In-house Training ....

inhouseSince January, the IDT office has received a number of Agency enquiries from both countries exploring the possibility of in-house training for their staff and colleagues.  Two organisations in N.Z. are now booked and ready for Foundation Course training in March and discussions are taking place for extended Advanced Course training with an Australian service provider.

There are significant advantages and benefits to the delivery of IDT training -

  • Recurring issues relevant to your client base are included in the experiential sessions
  • Provides a cost effective way of training individuals and teams
  • Professional development training provides new, complementary skills enhancing employee effectiveness
  • Collective training is an opportunity for building multidisciplinary links and group facilitation using IDT

Contact the IDT office idt@pl.net for further information.

Taking IDT FutherTaking your IDT training further ....

Graduates of the IDT Foundation Course often ask how they can use IDT to reach further and deeper into their work with clients.  This is often instigated by “breakthrough” moments where the lid is lifted on those challenging client situations and the opportunity for further work is presented.

IDT training provides two options, the new Intermediate Course and the established Advanced Course.  As each course addresses different aspects of deeper work, one course does not precede the other and both are complementary.

Intermediate Course – This course captures the detail and changing tasks that appear as the client works deeper (or refuses to go deeper!); guides participants to accurately recognise which level the client is available to work at and to shape level-specific interventions.  The deeper the work becomes, the greater the need for structure, safety and effective support.  (3-day course)

Advanced Course – Provides an inspiring immersion into all seven stages of the therapeutic process that clients move through, identifying the risks, therapeutic tasks and different skills and contracts needed at each stage of change.  (Two x 3-day course)

InSightIDT Conference (30 March – 1st April 2012 ) ....

conferenceAn exciting and provocative program of 10 major presentations (see below) is now settled along with a variety of group activities.  The 3-day Programme provides an opportunity to relax and enjoy the retreat centre including time out for hot pools and river walks.

Those attending will be coming in to Lake Taupo from Australia and throughout New Zealand.  Places are still available.  Come and join fellow IDTers for a rejuvenating and uplifting IDT experience.
