BECOME AN IDT TEACHER
Due
to an increasing demand for IDT to be taught in other countries, we are
pleased to offer a rare professional career opportunity to join a select
group of senior IDT practitioners that enjoy being paid to teach IDT. Accredited
teachers will (with suitable contracts) have the option of initiating their
own workshops in overseas countries, or offering their services to a licensed
IDT course provider. The 2011 teacher training programme is being hosted at
Lake Taupo (New Zealand) and Brisbane (Australia), commencing straight after
the Easter break, and concluding mid-October. If
IDT inspires you, and you think you would make a great IDT teacher, then we
invite you to read on.
Benefits
of becoming an IDT Teacher
·
You will be encouraged, and supported to
present IDT at national and international conferences
Exclusive
Offer If
you enrol in the 2011 programme and pay before 31 January, you will receive a
$500 Early-Bird discount on your fees. Please note there are limited spaces
available in both New Zealand and Australia. IDT teacher training is not
offered every year and it is unlikely that the programme will be offered in
2012 in New Zealand and Australia, so to secure your current opportunity we
encourage you to enrol now. Programme Summary 2011 The
six-month 2011 Teacher-training programme runs from late-April to mid-October,
with separate (but interchangeable) trainings available in New Zealand and
Australia. The programme consists of four x 3-day intensive group training
sessions, interspersed with five x four-day live Foundation Courses (1 x
guided observation; 1 x apprentice teaching under an established teacher; two
x co-teaching with another trainee; and one x solo-teaching). Participation
in a 2-day IDT Supervision workshop and a 3-day Master’s Class is also
required at one of the scheduled course options during the year. To minimise
the time away from work, most Teacher-training sessions and Foundation
Courses sessions lap into the Saturday, - however the Foundation Courses
scheduled prior and post the Teacher-training leave weekends free. Participants
are expected to have clients, be a full member of an appropriate professional
association, be mature and experienced practitioners, be suited to teaching,
and attend regular 1:1 supervision. Please refer to the Application Form for
more detail.

Foundation Courses - offered over a range of locations between May and
September (inclusive) – refer Teacher Training Prospectus for full calendar.

be offered to successful Teacher trainees, enabling them to then market
themselves and enter into teaching contracts with appropriate Licensees for
the delivery of Foundation Course training. Learning Approach The course is designed as an integrated learning
approach of self study, home-based peer practice sessions, assignments, whole
group training workshops (that are a mix of didactic input and experiential
training), and progressive immersion into live teaching. Besides learning how
to teach other professionals about IDT, the programme is deeply therapeutic
and participants can expect significant personal and professional growth. The
course has been designed to contribute to an education Diploma level 5.
Assessments During the period of the course each participant will
be involved in self, peer and tutor assessments, along with progress reports
from your supervisor. Teaching Options Upon graduation, accredited IDT teachers have two
options for teaching: a) As an independent contract teacher
they become eligible to teach IDT Foundation Courses organised by a licensed
IDT operator - who has exclusive rights to organise IDT training within a
defined area. b) As a free-lance accredited IDT
teacher they can organise and teach their own courses in an (as yet)
unlicensed area. This option is only available as part of a coordinated
strategy to enter new markets. Different contracts,
responsibilities and remunerations apply to each of these options. Fees On
successful graduation from the Teacher-training programme and accreditation
as an IDT teacher, new teachers can consolidate their teaching skills and
recoup a substantial proportion of their training fees in their first paid
contract. Please
note that no fees are paid to trainee teachers for presenting at the
Apprenticed, Co-taught and Solo-taught courses. The IDT Office will pay for
the direct costs of those courses (- venue hire, course handouts, all
teaching materials and refreshments), but teacher trainees will need to pay
for their own travel, accommodation, meals and other personal costs. STANDARD FEE for full IDT Foundation Course
